Starting at mile 228 of the West Branch Susquehanna, downstream to Burnside at mile 217, follow the winding waters in the headwaters of the river.
Paddle through rural areas of Pennsylvania and past many small rivers that helped to power saw mills in the early years of the Nation.
- Remanents of several dams along the route may be in the water
- Use caution -- scout ahead when approaching problem areas
- This section of the West Branch Susquehanna is paddable until mid-May and again in late November. It is possible to paddle in the summer after a heavy rainfall, but the watergage at Curwensville should be 4.4 feet.
